Search by domain or keyword

Find a specific site, or sites whose top pages rank for a keyword.

Written by Matyas Dios · Updated

The search box above the table works in two modes. Use Domain when you know the site you want. Use Keyword when you want publishers that already rank for a topic.

Search by domain

  1. Make sure the switch beside the search box is set to Domain.
  2. Type the domain.
  3. The table shows the matching sites.

Search by keyword

  1. Set the switch to Keyword.
  2. Type your keyword, for example "privatlån".
  3. A bar appears with Ranks for and your keyword. Each matching site shows the page and its Google position.
  4. Use the Position buttons to keep only sites that rank high enough for you, Top 3, Top 10, Top 20 or All. The bar also has a Sort button for Best position.
  5. If nothing matches, the page can offer Include all positions and a link to the SERP Scanner.

What keyword search covers

Keyword search matches the top keyword of each site's top 5 ranking pages in Ahrefs. It does not search page URLs, and it is not a full keyword list for the whole site. A site can rank for your keyword on other pages and still not show up.

Tip

No match does not mean a site is a poor fit. If you want a search against live Google results instead, try the Google SERP Scanner.

The table starts in its default order, with a selection of sites on top. When you change the sort, a bar shows "Sorted by" your choice. Press Back to default order to return.
