Add anchor text, target URL and your article

After ordering, submit the details for each link: target URL, anchor text, publication date and your text.

You add anchor text and target URL after you place your order, not in the cart. Every link in the order needs its own details. We start working on a link when we have them.

Before you start

  • Your order is placed and paid, or confirmed if you pay by invoice.
  • You know which page each link should point to and which words should carry the link.
  • For By You, your article is ready as a .docx file or a Google Docs document.

Step by step

  1. Open Orders and choose the Needs Action tab. You can also use the Add content details button in your order email.
  2. Find the link and click Submit details. The Submit content details window opens.
  3. Fill in the form for your content option (see below).
  4. Under Preferred Publication Date, pick a date or tick Publish ASAP (as soon as possible).
  5. Add a note under Additional Comments (Optional) if the writer or publisher should know something.
  6. Click Submit Content Details. The button stays grey until the required fields are filled in.

Click Save as Draft if you want to stop and finish later. Nothing is sent to us until you submit.

What the form asks for

By YouUpload Your Article as a .docx file, or a Google Docs Link. A featured image is optional.
  • Target URL is the page the link should point to.
  • Anchor Text is the clickable text of the link.
  • Heading is a suggested title. The final headline may be adjusted to fit the publisher.
Tip

With a Google Docs link, make sure the document can be opened by anyone with the link. Upload an image separately instead of embedding it in your document.

The publication date

Pick a date at least 3 days from today, or choose Publish ASAP. Read Delivery times and publication dates for how this fits with the delivery time.

After you submit

With NR content, our writers start on the article and the form confirms that a draft is ready for your review within 1 to 2 business days. Read Review and approve your article draft. With By You, we review your material, send it to the publisher and notify you when the link is live.

Once submitted, the Details button on the link shows your answers read-only.
