Delivery times and publication dates
How long delivery takes, what pauses the clock and how to pick a publication date.
There are two different waits in an order: the wait for your article draft, and the wait for the article to be published. They have different times, so keep them apart.
Draft and publication
| Step | Normal time |
|---|---|
| Article draft (NR Standard, NR Business, NR Optimized) | Within 1 to 2 business days after you submit your details |
| Publication | Within 5 business days, sometimes up to 10 |
With By You there is no draft to wait for, because you supply the article. The publication time still applies.
When the clock starts
Delivery time counts from the moment payment is complete, or your order is confirmed if you pay by invoice, and we have received everything we need from you. That includes your content details and, for By You, your article.
Time spent waiting for you does not count. For example, the days a draft waits for your approval are not part of the delivery time.
The fastest way to keep the clock running is to open the Needs Action tab on the Orders page and submit your details as soon as you have paid. Read Add anchor text, target URL and your article.
If delivery takes longer
If your order has not been delivered after 10 business days, you may cancel it and receive a full refund. If you do not cancel, we continue until the order is delivered. This follows our Terms of Use.
Pick a publication date
In the Submit content details form, Preferred Publication Date is required. You have two choices:
- Select a date at least 3 days from today.
- Tick Publish ASAP (as soon as possible) and the article is published as soon as possible.
A date less than 3 days ahead is not accepted. Choose Publish ASAP instead.
Follow each link on the Orders page. Read Order and link statuses explained for what each status means.
